A PRETTY COOL CONCEPT TOUR

Imagine if your job required you to travel non-stop, getting to know the most kitsch, curious and eye-catching hotels in the U.S.A. Well, that's what Margaret Bienert and her husband Corey have been doing since they stayed a little over four years ago in a rather peculiar hotel in Los Angeles. During their stay, they realised they could strike gold on Instagram with photos of places like that hotel, accompanied by their stories.

This couple of Californian photographers and videographers are behind one of the favourite Instagram accounts of our CEO, Diego Calvo: A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour. In it, they recount their adventures in America's most unusual hotels: a bed inside a giant shell (Black Swan Inn), palm trees, monkeys and coconut trees in the middle of the room, a giant crystal glass that is actually a jacuzzi or a cave full of stalagmites made into a cosy room (Madonna Inn) are some of the pearls that they have come across in their fun-filled wanderings through more than fifty hotels across the length and breadth of the U.S.A.

 

However, there are also unusual, original and colourful hotels outside the Americas... with Ibiza and Concept Hotel Group as their standard bearer. The mutual and virtual admiration that A Pretty Cool Hotel Tour and Diego Calvo have had for each other since the beginning of these "hotel-trotters" project could only end one way: with Margaret and Corey's visit to Ibiza to tell the story of their journey in a new Ibiza version: A Pretty Cool Concept Tour.

The couple visited us for the first time in July 2022, passing through Tropicana, Dorado, Cubanito, Paradiso, and Romeo's. They also had an exclusive look at the Caduzzi at Grand Paradiso, which was still under construction. On that first visit, they left a record of their adventure with a chapter dedicated exclusively to Concept, which you can see in the acclaimed Instagram account that they share. Being brave souls, they stayed in Paradiso's Zero Suite. "Wow, this is the wildest thing we've ever experienced in a hotel," Margaret told us after staying the night in the glassed-walled suite. Coming from them, that's quite the compliment!

 

After that first contact and a meeting in Los Angeles with Diego Calvo in February of the same year, the couple returned to Ibiza last July to present us with their book 'Hotel Kitsch', which includes a selection of their favourite hotel visits - including those at Romeo's Motel & Diner and Tropicana - and to meet the newest addition to the Concept family: Mongibello.

 

The Pretty Cool Hotel Tour has never explored hotels outside the United States before, and it's an honour to be chosen by them to cross borders. We hope to see more of them in Europe from now on. In the meantime, Concept will be their home whenever they want, and we will always have the Zero Suite ready to give them a little more 'Zero Intimacy.'

We hope to host them again in June 2024 for the inauguration of our new hotel, Los Felices.
