Mick Rock and Hannah Shillito Merge Photography and Art at Grand Paradiso Cinema

The documentary on the life and work of the renowned music photographer Mick Rock will be screened next Wednesday, August 7, at the cinema of the Grand Paradiso hotel, preceded by a talk between the Brighton artist Hannah Shillito and Emma Salahi, founder of Agony & Ecstasy Gallery.

‘SHOT! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock’ captures, in documentary form, the life and work of the most celebrated rock photographer. Mick Rock has photographed legends like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Blondie, Patty Smith, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles… the list of iconic figures captured by this photographer is endless. Born in 1948 in Hammersmith, London, Rock was not only the trusted photographer of the brightest stars of yesterday, today, and always but also their friend and one of the few outside the music industry to have access to the most intimate moments of the most relevant musicians in history, those who wrote and shaped it.

Before the screening at the Grand Paradiso hotel cinema, there will be a discussion about Mick Rock’s photography featuring English artist Hannah Shillito—who is debuting an exhibition at the hotel’s Adda Gallery—and Emma Salahi, founder of the Santa Gertrudis-based gallery Agony & Ecstasy.

Artist Hannah Shillito, who studied art history and literature, is known for her maximalist and colorful style. She has exhibited alongside renowned artists such as Grayson Perry and Damien Hirst, in the UK and Ibiza, and has been featured in prominent media like the British edition of Vogue. Her photographs have been displayed in Manhattan and digitally exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Her work will be showcased at the Adda Gallery opening event on Thursday, August 8, and from August 9 to September 19, it will be on display in the lobby of Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel.
