Palm Springs, located east of Los Angeles in the world-famous Coachella Valley, is the inspiration behind Los Felices. This little haven of glamour (known as Playground of the Stars due to the large number of celebrities who hung out there from the 50s to the 70s) has the heritage, services and amenities of a big city in a compact form. Its mid-century architecture, towering palm trees and fantastic year-round climate made it a favourite haunt of stars such as Frank Sinatra, Cher and her then-husband Sonny Bono, actors Bob Hope and George Hamilton and flamboyant pianist Liberace. This breeding ground is the perfect combo to encase the imagery behind the ninth hotel of The Concept Hotels brand, with its interior design created, once again, by the architecture and design studio Ilmiodesign, the architects behind all the Group's projects to date.
With fashion as the concept behind the curtain, Los Felices pays homage to an industry with which Concept Hotel Group has much in common. Always on the move, fashion is a chameleon-like art and an extraordinary means of expression that never ceases to evolve. One of the premises of the designers involved in the project is the circularity and recycling of materials, a personal hallmark and technique for the large majority of them. Some of the confirmed designers include the Spaniards Alejandro Gómez Palomo, Pepa Salazar, Abraham Ortuño and the London-based Angel Nokonoko from Ibiza. And championing French fashion are the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier, Emma Rowen Rose and the tandem behind Egonlab: Florentin Glèmarec and Kevin Nonpeix, among others. Greek designer Dimitra Petsa, whose creations have won over Gigi Hadid and Nicky Minaj, is also among our collaborators.
Los Felices will combine standard rooms and suites with mid-century stylings (lattices, wooden ceilings, and private bars) with the hotel's most exceptional rooms: six villas with independent access, a private terrace, and views of the pool area(s) dedicated to the project's top designers. We can reveal that Julien Dossena, Alejandro Gómez Palomo, are two of the names we can reveal from the six villas.
To carry out the arduous task of putting together a balanced list of more than 70 designers from different countries, styles and categories taking part in the project, we have worked with the Lexa collective, the fashion curator Christophe Ledoux and the designer and fashion trendsetter María Bernad, who will also act as fashion consultant. This Alicante-born, Paris-based fashion designer will also have a boutique inside the hotel called Les Fleurs, the name of María's company, which focuses on upcycling and recycling vintage fabrics and garments. Bernad has carefully selected brands and vintage pieces from maison brands that we will find in this special shop.
Los Felices will also have a fantastic kiosk: La Fashiontèque. This corner is the dream of any textile art lover; you can find irresistible magazines, fashion books and specialised publications that'll delight any self-respecting fashion nerd. Publications such as Hypebeast, Metal Magazine, Dazed, or Paused Mag will be at your disposal.
And if you're wondering whether you'll be able to borrow magazines and read them at the hotel, the answer is yes, and the perfect place to do so is The Palms Pool Club, the pink and yellow pool area infused with the Palm Springs' timeless summer spirit. With the two pools separated by a DJ booth in the shape of a sixties parasol and a Slim Aarons-style circular designer sofa, The Palms Pool Club promises to be the perfect place to enjoy a hard day's sunbathing in the Californian-Ibizan sun.
And for discerning, gluten-free palates looking for a chic touch wherever they go, we have developed an exclusive brand with the best pizza masters. This restaurant is open to the general public, where the tradition of Neapolitan pizza merges with fashion's cool status. Gluten-free pizza and champagne are that winning combination you didn't know you needed, and they are perfect at any time of the day.
Our two ground-breaking elements provide the icing on the cake: The Pop-up Room, a glass room designed for multiple uses (workshops, atelier, showcase, etc.), is available to fashion brands and designers collaborating on the project. The highlight is The Futuro House Stage, inspired by the prefabricated fibreglass houses designed by the Danish architect Matti Suuronen in the 1970s. Los Felices will have its own beautiful pink UFO that will act as a Backstage for the concerts and fashion shows that take place outside.
And to top it all off, Los Felices will open its own nightclub with a disco feel in 2025. With parties that go against the flow, it'll make the bay's nightlife boom. We can only say that the arrival of this club will be a before and after in Ibiza's nightlife, bringing something completely different to what already exists. Music and culture are the driving force behind everything we do, and Los Felices is no exception. The hotel’s tune selection is from our music curator, Álvaro Naive, former bass player of the Madrid post-punk band 'Trajano!' whose identity as a DJ is closely linked to the fashion industry. Naive is one of the most requested It boys at all the big brand parties, standing out for his eclectic and groovy style, which always sounds of summer.
With these ingredients, we suggest that you start organising your summer holidays and come and enjoy first-hand all these ideas, somewhere between genius and madness, which we have developed, once again, exclusively for you.
